Due to recent record breaking hot weather we were lucky enough to have recently, we thought it would be a good idea to remind you how to care for your leather furniture!
The heat can really dry out the leather, as it is skin after all, so if your furniture is feeling a little dry or a little tight, it might be a good idea to treat the leather with a leather creamer. The creamer is basically a moisturiser which will re-hydrate your leather and give it back some life and restore that soft supple feel of a great leather.
Here at Distinctive Chesterfields we have a range of leather care kits tailored especially for the different grades of leather available. Prices start from £19.99.
If you are unsure of the type of leather kit you will need please give us a call on 0044 (0)1484 663294

We suggest to try and wipe it over with a damp warm soft cloth every week as this should help your Chesterfield to look its best at all times.
We also suggest a cream cleaner once or twice a year, you can buy these now from Distinctive Chesterfields at a reasonable price of £29.95.

Your Distinctive Chesterfield was made with tender care by time served craftsmen and we want it to look as good in the years ahead as it did when it left our workshops. You do not want your leather to dry out prematurely so try not to place it next to hot radiators as an example. Never use abrasive materials as these will damage the finish, nor leave denim on aniline leathers as the colours may well run off and always regularly dust your chesterfield sofa or club chair, reducing the ingress of grime, treating the leather with one of our approved leather clean and feed products.
Naturally your leather will over time age and you will see it form its own patina, a characteristic of quality leather. You may notice colour variance on high traffic surfaces of the chair or sofa creases, and changes in suppleness of the surface leather. Sensible precautions will ensure that your leather sofa or club chair will continue to look good. Avoid studs on jeans and trousers, responsible for more scratches and damage than most others. Spilling wine and other such liquids can be problematic, but blotting the spill with a lint cloth and sponging off with warm water followed by leather feed and clean will minimise the effects.
Take care of your Distinctive Chesterfield and it will give you years of service and continue to look good.
