Before we cover our range of furniture with leather, these carefully selected fine grain hides are subjected to a three stage finishing process after which they can be applied to the chosen piece. Treated with care and maintained as you would any treasured item, leather will continue to not just look good, but last for years as well.

We at Distinctive Chesterfields are rightly proud of the range of products that we make safe in the knowledge that all the pieces that are produced in our workshops receive exactly the same meticulous attention to detail.

All our many Chesterfield sofas, club chairs and footstools start with the all important frame, constructed only from selected hardwoods, and carefully formed by hand, using dowels, screws, and corner blocks for added strength. This handmade frame is checked in detail and sent to our polishing shop when several coats of polish are hand applied to parts that will be exposed such as feet for instance. We now pad the sofa or chair and it then takes on its “Distinctive” shape.

Perhaps the thing that makes a Distinctive Chesterfield really stand out is the quality leather upholstery that is selected and applied to the product, which can take up to three days to complete. Finally we apply the buttons or studs individually applied by hand and then the whole piece is then buffed or rubbed off- depending on the selected leather finish and then sealed so as to protect the look achieved.
